The candidate’s core duties will consist of, but are not limited to:
Environmental services to successfully complete processes and reports to the end of obtaining the relevant permits as required by South African Environmental legislation, inter alia:
Full Environmental Impact Assessment process and Basic Assessment Process
Water Use Licenses
Mining Permits
Ongoing Project Management of multiple Environmental Licencing processes and, procedures – management of the Team of consultants.
Engage in ongoing communication with contractors on site, acting as environmental liaison to resolve outstanding environmental issues regarding documentation
Ensure compliance with internal procedures to ensure that established environmental and process procedures are being followed by the appropriate personnel
Ensure customer satisfaction regarding the quality of services and reports.
Mapping, GIS & data interpretation: this can include a detailed assessment of data, often using software modelling packages (e.g. GIS software).
Quality review of documents
Masters Degree in environmental/scientific field
8-10 Years’ Experience in Environmental Consulting
Candidates must have good communication skills in English, be flexible, and have a positive attitude
Strong Project Management experience in multiple projects
A valid driver’s license
Detailed understanding of applicable South African Environmental legislation
SACNASP registered (Candidate SACNASP registration as a minimum)
EAPASA Registered
Excellent report-writing skills
We may require a Criminal Records Bureau check. The job is dependent on suitable references.
